Starting in 2018 by Marcey Yates, Culxr House is a community cultural center that provides artists, musicians, and activists a safe space to create and engage. Our new location was opened in 2019, which is the spot most people know today, and quickly became the hub for artists and musicians to create, and for activists during the summer of 2020 protests to meet.

We quickly gained support from our community for being a space to gather and engage for all of their needs. We host a multitude of community events from civic engagement forums, debates, art shows, music and comedy performances, and much, much more.

In 2022, we became the sole Omaha location for ArtBattleⓇ, a live art competition in which 12 local artists create paintings in 20 minute rounds. These events happen about every 2 months and are some of our personal favorite events.

Culxr House is dedicated to the arts and community. We hope to continue to be a place for artists of all kinds to show up and grow their talents. Omaha is filled with amazing and creative people and we think all who are serious about their talents deserve a place to showcase them.
